Did I Missoni something?

Not entirely...

So I didn't even know that there was going to be a Missoni for Target line. It wasn't until I saw on Facebook that a large group of my friends were upset on Tuesday that everything was sold out at 8am. The website crashed for goodness sakes!!! That is a ton of fashion frenzied females (and males, who knows) trying to purchase some cost effective designer products! Don't get me wrong, I think that the majority of the collection is super cute but I just don't have a keen enough fashion radar that I know exactly when designers are launching their discount lines. I guess I need to work on that. I really wish that I had gotten a few of the clothing items. Especially the super cute infinity scarf and that cool pancho/jacket thing! Darn.

So I was at my local small town Target today and I noticed that the Missoni racks were devoid of Missoni products. They had some generic Mossimo sweaters hanging on the black and white chevron patterned racks. Since I didn't go to Target to buy Missoni (please, that dream was over before it began) I went about my regular shopping.

Low and behold I stumbled upon one tiny rack in the accessories department that had the scraps of what was left from Tuesday's debut. Most of it was for the little girls. There was some lingerie and some rain boots which I need neither of. But... I did find this...

And this...

I also found these...

But the quality of the suede was poor and I really didn't think that they would last. The black of the suede was rubbing off on the inside of the box and the toes were already shiny from it rubbing off. So I left them on the shelf.

I am much more happy with buying my cute new favorite coffee mug and my cool serving platter. 'Cause that is just how I roll.

Did you get you a piece of Missoni? If you didn't do you care?

It is beginning to "look" like fall!

I attended my nephews baseball practice the other day and it was nice and cloudy out. Driving up to the baseball field in my car I got an overwhelming "fall feeling". It just looked colder outside. I usually get the "fall feeling" around this time of year and I immediately wax nostalgic about school supplies (sharpened pencils, brightly colored never-been-written-in notebooks, new backpacks). I loved this time of year as a kid and I still love it now. I start itching to crack out the boots and scarves! I really want to put together an outfit like this...

Unfortunately, being that I live in Florida, when I stepped out of the car to walk up to the practice field I was enveloped in a blanket of humidity and 90something temperatures. The illusion was broken. No scarves or boots in this girls near future. Probably another couple of months of flip-flops and tank-tops.

Oh well. I can't complain too much seeing as the rest of the country has been dealing with some pretty horrific weather as of late. We have had a relatively mild summer in the grand scheme of things and I will gladly take a few more months of warm temperatures in lieu of record breaking heat, massive fires, earthquakes, and epic flooding.

I am counting my blessings but I am still dreaming of scarves, boots, and Pumpkin Spiced Lattes!

Cozy little phones

I just posted some great new items to my etsy shop. I have several new wipes cases as well as these cute cell phone cases.

They will keep your phone warm and cozy!

So cute! And practical too!

How 'bout some team spirit!

I don't know about anyone else, but I am getting pumped for my favorite season.

Football Season!

And in the spirit of the season I am featuring some school spirit wipes cases on Etsy.

Shown here in Sooner, Gator and UCF Knights colors but they can be done in any school colors really. It is a cute way for mommies (and daddies) to show their school spirit especially during football season.

Really they could be good for anyone during a tailgate. Sticky buffalo wing fingers? Grab a wipe. Mustard spill? Grab a wipe. Forced to venture into the dreaded outdoor potty? Definitely grab a wipe!!!

I am also doing gift sets of wipes cases and burp cloths.

Although it isn't posted on Etsy yet, you can do a matching burp cloth with any of my wipes cases. I just started posting them as sets so look out for more to come. Or just message me and let me know what case you want and I will create a burp cloth to coordinate.

Here are a few other cute ideas for football season that I am sure to bust out this season at a tailgate

Chocolate covered strawberry footballs!

Football cake balls from Bakerella!

I will probably try to make something similar but you can purchase a wreath like this here.

I am still a Sooner at heart but because I now live in Florida and we have the Game On Events tailgate trailer business (more on that later) I am also a Gator fan by default. We have so much fun going up to Gainesville and hanging out with friends before, during, and after the Gator games!

Seriously I cannot wait!

The Help

I just finished reading this book a few days ago and I loved it! I have wanted to read it ever since Nate Berkus put it on his list of favorite things in the back of Elle decor (or some similar publication) last year.

Then I really really wanted to read it after I found out that it was going to be made into a movie. I have this thing about reading books before I see the movie version. I wouldn't even watch the movie trailer to The Help before I finished the book, which was getting harder by the day. Now that I have finished the book, and I have allowed myself to watch the trailer, and I am excited to see it on film. I think the cast looks solid and I can't wait to see how true to the book the screenwriters stayed.

I also am excited about seeing the 1960s era costumes and set design. The book itself was very detailed with the character development but didn't go into great detail about the setting of Jackson, Mississippi. And although the wardrobe choices of the characters were often mentioned (especially the protagonist Skeeter Phelan) I can't wait to actually see how the costume designer puts it all together.

I don't usually see movies by myself, but maybe I just might have to make this an exception as a rainy Wednesday activity!

Taggy Friday!!!

That is TaGGy Friday not TaCKy Friday. But hey, if you want to do Tacky Friday that is cool too, it just isn't what I'm talking about here today.

SO either you know what a taggy is and know that it can be as important as any other baby paraphernalia like bottle warmers, diaper cream, and pacifiers. Or you have no idea what a taggy is and you would like me to educate you.

Why yes...yes I will.

I am not sure where the taggy originated but I first learned about it a mere year or so ago at a baby shower for my precious twin nephews. At this shower there was an adorable 8 month old little girl named Emmerson, who had a brightly colored blanket looking thing with all of these ribbons sewed to the edge. According to her sweet mommy, little Ems loved the thing and she didn't go anywhere without it. I was intrigued. To my luck the twins Nana made them their first set of taggys and so I got a first hand tutorial.

It wasn't hard for me to decide that taggys would be a perfect addition to the CocoLemon line. So without further ado, here is the CocoLemon version of a taggy blanket!

I have seen taggys made out of a multitude of materials ranging from burp clothes (aka cloth diapers), to polar fleece, to all minky fleece. I make mine with one side minky fleece (super soft plush fleece) and the other side flannel backed satin. It makes for the most cuddly soft little taggy blanket ever!

So happy Taggy Friday everyone!

And if you still want to do Tacky Friday here you go...

Chevron Love

I am totally obsessed with my new favorite pattern! CHEVRONS! I love them. I want to wear them, carry them, and live in them. So what exactly do I love about them? They are a crisp, clean, more visually interesting version of a stripe.

Since this one is sold and all!

Headboard...check, colors...check, chevron pillows...obviously!

So have I convinced you? Aren't chevrons divine?

You can bet that I will be hunting for some chevron fabric to make some wipes cases, burp clothes, curtains, pillows, clothes...okay maybe not clothes, I may have to buy those!
